The meeting was called to order at 9:00 AM by President Rick Plite. Prayer was observed, 48 were present with 3 new members.
Rick announced Coast Guard Boat Inspections today after our meeting.
NOMINATION: Kevin Sullivan was nominated for Treasurer, Unanimous Vote of approval. Thanks to Joyce Stepansky and Ge for all their dedication and hard work the past few years.
A new Activity Information Board is planned for the Bay Front. Moving the current posts so both back and front sides may be used. Two new Boxes will be made to hold information. A new Activity board to schedule Boating, Fishing, or kayaking trips for members to sign up. Another project is research to have a kayak storage area near a boat ramp. The Mini Reef project is going forward.
Paradisebay.info is the web site where all information related to our club and Parks is a great resource for information.
VP Chris Matteson reported hats & t shirts are available. The Activity Board is seeking volunteers. $190.00 has been donated this season to the club, thanks to all for your continued support. March Coastal Angler magazines will be placed in the little house across from PB Hall this afternoon.
Treasurer Report and Secretary minutes were read and approved.
DOCKMASTER: Scotty Yates reported approximated 65 people on the Dock Wait list. Jim Gath has the Boat Assist List and is continually updating this list. It is posted Bay side by the Contest Board. The Boat Yard is getting new gates, once installed if you leave the area please lock the gates. For storage your Trailer needs your name, address and phone, please leave your motor in the down position, tongue unlocked. Scotty has the stickers for your boat trailer.
Fish Awards were presented. March will be our last Month-long contest this season.
New Business: Rick suggested FWC app for your phone. They are seeking input from anglers on trout, Redfish and snook as they will decide May 31 on seasonal changes and limits. They are all on the no keep list currently.

The meeting was called to order at 9:00 AM by President, Rick Plite, 30 members were present.
The Treasurer’s Report and Secretary Minutes were read and approved.
MOTION: Chris Matteson was nominated for Vice President, Vote unanimous, welcome Chris to the Executive Board.
Rick reported the Coast Guard Auxiliary will conduct Boat Inspections, Thursday, February 4 at 10:00 AM. Sign-up sheets were available to sign up.
Possible Projects & Activities: Rick mentioned organizing Boating or Fishing groups.
Kayak Racks near the Bay, Smart Phone Apps. Another board built just for News and Activities.
VP Report: Gary Armour, Hats & Shirts are available. Gary thanked everyone for their service to the Club and the Park. He mentioned how beautiful the Bay front is because of our “work parties” volunteering their time. Thank you, Gary, for serving!
Nominations for Treasurer, NO names submitted. Please consider volunteering for this important position for our Club.
DOCKMASTER: Scotty Yates is working with John Mattei as he begins serving as our new Dockmaster. Please make sure your boat trailer in the yard has your name, park address and phone number, do not lock the tongue. Trailers have to be moved around occasionally to help with space issues. If you leave the storage area, please lock the gate. Please get the new stickers from PB Office for your boat trailer. The Boat Dock wait list is posted, currently there are 60 waiting from PB and 8 Sarasota Bay. Jim Gath has the boat Assist List; a clipboard was available to add or remove your name.
OLD BUSINESS: We are checking with the Board of Directors for advice on the installation of the Mini Reef.

January 5, 2021

The meeting was called to order at 9:00 AM by President, Carl Shaver, 50 members were present. Carl welcomed everyone the new members and returning members. Prayer was observed. The minutes from March 2020 were read and approved, Treasurer’s Report from 2020 and current balance were reported and approved.
VICE PRESIDENT REPORT: Hats & Shirts are available. All information will be posted on board down by Bay. Coastal Angler Magazines will be placed in several places within the park. Thanks to Ge Stepansky for the Contest Poster Board with photos of the fish for our contests.
Contest awards were presented.
DOCKMASTER: All docks are rented, storage is full. The wait list is posted with current status. Don Vogel reported trailers in storage need name on trailer tongue, no locks on tongue. Questions regarding sizes of docks available, please see John Mattei for Rules. If you damage docks, you are responsible for the repairs. Security cameras are being placed, there are 2 in Storage and 2 on Finger Docks. Randy Darr is working on this project. The Boat Ramp project permit expired, the project will be renewed if the HOA Board decides.
BOAT ASSIST LIST: The list is current and posted on the Board down at the Bay.
Coast Guard Boat Inspections may be available at the February 2 meeting. News will be posted on the Board.
Gary Plum reported on the Artificial Reef project. Eckard College, Citizen College is working on this program for water clean-up and red tide mitigation.
MOTION: Club buy one Artificial Reef for $365.00, motion Passed.
FWC has maps with current Red Tide Information on their website.
Calendar for 2021-2022 season are in draft form. We are hopeful for next season to return to a full schedule. These will be available soon.
PB Board of Directors are asking for pool cover volunteers.

The meeting was called to order at 9:00 AM by President, Carl Shaver, 74 members present and one Guest Speaker. Carl Thanked all for helping with the Chili Luncheon and especially John Jelinek for the delicious Chili.
The minutes were read and approved, Treasurer’s report for January and February read and approved.
Carl read a Thank you card from Sarasota Bay Activity for our $300.00 donation, verbal Thank you for our $500.00 donation to Paradise Bay Activity Groups. The Frank & Bean Raffle had 3 winners of $153.00 each, the last ticket took almost a month to be awarded. Discussion regarding how long to wait for a winning ticket before returning the money to our treasury. The Executive Board will work on this decision.
VICE PRESIDENT REPORT: The Coast Guard inspected 39 Boats this season, the CPR/AED Class had 26 people attending. Hats and shirts are available. Norm Kitchen is in charge of the March 27th Fish Fry Dinner. Sign-up sheets for attendance and to volunteer were passed around. Norm is collecting prizes to be awarded at this luncheon.
Contest Awards were presented. March 5, One Day Contest will be a double day. With separate sign in sheets for Men and Women to replace the February Women’s Only Contest. Non-Award Day Contest is March 19.
DOCKMASTER’S REPORT: John Mattei reported 11 docks were awarded recently. There are 57 on the PB wait list and 5 on the Sarasota Bay wait list. The Lights on the docks have been fixed and will soon be replaced with LED bulbs. When you leave your boat & trailer in the lot, please do not lock your trailer tongue, or leave any items on the ground in the lot.
Don Vogel reported the cost for the repairs to the 5th street ramp came in at $122,000 which is much greater than anticipated. This project is on hold.
EASTER DINNER: Susan Miller passed a sign-up sheet for volunteers for this dinner April 12. We will be hosting this dinner again this year. Tickets will be available at Coffee Hours.
Jim McDaniel, Director of Development, The Center of Anna Maria Island was our special speaker. Their Go Green Initiative is to improve Mind, Body, Spirit, Wellness of our community. As of November 16, 2019, 104 Mini Reefs have been installed along the Island. These are attached to docks and serve as fish habitat’s and attract oysters, crabs and act as a nursery for fish. His presentation was excellent and well organized with scientific information explaining the uses and purpose of these Mini Reef’s. Once colonized these Mini Reef’s provide water filtration by the oysters making the water healthier with higher oxygen content. They have a 10-15-year lifespan with minimal maintenance such as possibly changing the attachment ropes. Most of the materials are recyclable. June 2019 a Grant was awarded by FWC Red Tide Mitigation Technical Development Initiative. They are available from the Center for $350.00.
