The Minutes and Treasurer report were read and approved.
Nomination and Elections were held for Treasurer. Motion for Joyce Stepansky was nomination for Treasurer, Tom Dick as Assistant Treasurer. Motion Passed.
Fishing Contest Awards for November were presented. The next One Day Contest will be December 19 with Rain Date December 20.

He also passed around a sign up for January Coast Guard Boat Inspections.
DOCKMASTER: John Mattei announced there are 107 boat slips, 23 are private and 99 storage spots. The code for the Ramp chain lock is 0526. Please have your name on your trailer, do not lock the tongue. The Dock wait list will be updated and posted Dec. 6 down at our board off 3rdSt. Don Vogel updated upcoming projects. New channel markers to be installed and bids are being taken for repairs to the 5thStreet ramp.A huge thank you to George Cook for helping with the electrical problem saving us a costly repair.
Don Domrose updated the Boat Assist List. Please let him know of any corrections or additions.

The meeting was called to order at 9:00 AM by President, Carl Shaver, 43 Members present. Carl welcomed new members.
John Mattei is taking over Dockmaster position and has agreed to continue through December. We will be accepting nominations and voting on a new Treasurer at the December meeting. John gave the Treasurer’s report.
DOCKMASTER: Vogel thanked Rod Kramer for his summer service. This year’s projects are channel markers. We are waiting for permits; 10 markers need to be replaced and lights installed. The 5th Street ramp needs attention. We have a permit to extend the concrete 25 feet. The chain across that ramp was installed to keep people out. Combination is 0526. Don also thanked John Jelink, Don and Kay Domrose for their help. A big thank you to Bonnie Vogel for assisting with book work for the Dockmasters.
Don Domrose will be updating the Boat Assist List.
Frank Chan will check out who to report the Newsletter information for Sarasota Bay.

The November fish contest will be Tuesday, Nov 21, with rain date Wed Nov 22.

Don Vogel reported a $400.00 donation toward channel lights and the club voted to spend up to $1,000.00.

April 4, 2017

The meeting was called to order at 9:00 AM by Vice President, Gary Armour, 44 of 188 Members present.
Secretary minutes and Treasurers report were read and approved.
Frank Chan reported from SaraBay that everyone loved the fish dinner, they are joining and coming back next year.
Fish awards were presented.

Gary Armour: Shirts and Hats are available, buy some for your family to take home.
DOCKMASTER’S REPORT: Don Vogel prepare your dock space for summer by tying up counter weight, remove hoses and extension cords. Rod Kramer will serve as summer Dock Master. In the storage yard, be sure there are no locks on your trailers, motors down, be sure the trailers are mobile. The Channel markers might not be done until Fall. There are 107 docks, 99 storage spots. Revenue from boat docks was around $40,000 with $23,000 spent on dock projects. John Mattei has agreed to serve as Dock Master next season but we will need a Treasurer for the Club. The fish cleaning stations need new brushes and cutting boards, the garbage cans need tied down somehow.
BOAT ASSIST LIST: Don Domrose had updated lists.
EASTER DINNER: Susan Miller reported on Easter Dinner preparations.
FISH FRY DINNER: Jim Waller thanked everyone for helping with the dinner.
CPR: 38 people were certified this season, dates for next season are March 1 & 2.

March 8, 2017

The meeting was called to order at 9:00 AM by President, Carl Shaver, 78 of 181 Members present, Justin Wallheiser Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission was our guest. Carl gave the opening prayer.
Susan Miller spoke about needing volunteers for the Easter Dinner and a sign-up sheet was passed.
Treasurer’s report and Secretary report were read and approved.
Sign-up sheets were passed for the Non-Award Winners contest, March 29.
Next One Day Contest is March 16, 2017.
Vice President: Gary Armour passed around a new name tag available with the Paradise Bay Boating & Fishing Club added to the tag. It is available with both a pin and magnetic back. We also have Club hats and t-shirts available for sale.
DOCKMASTER: Don Vogel reported the dock projects are almost complete, our permit expires 3-17-17. He and John Jelink thank everyone for all their hard work on the docks. Channel markers will be installed soon. He asked people to turn the water off down by the docks at night. Storage area, please leave boat motors in the down position, don’t use any blocks for the trailers, no wood, lumber, crab traps are to be left in or under your trailer. Take hoses & extension cords off the docks for summer, secure your dock lines so they don’t drape into the water. Counter weights should be stored on the lower walk way. The dock wait list is now at 60 people with an estimate 3 year wait list. We still need two people to volunteer for the Dock master and Assistant positions.
MOTION: Donate up to $1,000 for purchase of lights for the new channel markers. MOTION PASSED
BOAT ASSIST LIST: Don Domrose reported no changes.
ELECTION OF OFFICERS: Nominations were open from the floor, there were none.
MOTION: Existing Officers serve next season. MOTION PASSED
CPR: John Stump, West Manatee Fire & Rescue certified 22 people on March 3. Another class on March 10 still has openings, please contact Gary Armour.
Coast Guard Safety Course is available at their GT Bray Park location.
FISH FRY DINNER: Jim Waller reported we have a freezer available in ParaBay Hall for storage. Helpers please come at 8:30 AM, the dinner will be held Friday, March 24, 2017 at noon at the Paradise Bay Hall. This dinner is for members only.
SPECIAL REPORT: Bill Booher reported There are many organizations out there who strive to slow development and save the remaining Sarasota Bay Mangroves. Groups like FISH out of Cortez and Suncoast Waterkeeper's work to protect what all of us consider beautiful about the Bay and especially the essential Mangroves that provide us great fishing, great wildlife, and great boating.
I would like to suggest to all here to consider becoming Members of these two local organizations.
Membership is $10.00 annually for FISH and is FREE for Suncoast Waterkeeper's.

GUEST SPEAKER: Justin Wallheiser spoke about changes to some FWC Regulations, there was a question/answer session. Justin also brought several new handouts from the FWC.

The meeting was called to order at 9:00 AM by President Carl Shaver, 65 members present, 5 guests from the Coast Guard Auxiliary. Opening prayer was observed. Treasurer’s report and Secretary report were read and approved.
Sign-up sheets were passed for CPR, Coast Guard Boat Inspection and Boater Safety course.
Fish Contest Awards were presented.
Next one-day contest is January 18.
Gary Armour has Club Hats and T-shirts available.
DOCKMASTER’S REPORT: John Jelink reported lumber is being delivered tomorrow for boat dock construction to begin January 16. We will be building 5 new docks and putting in approximately 8 new channel markers. Bring a pencil and tape measure with you when you volunteer.
Don Domrose has a new Boat Assist list available with a few minor changes.
Carl thanked members for assisting with coffee hour on December 19.
Chuck Kekoni discussed his research for fish cleaning station tubes, more research will be done.
MOTION: Donate $400 to Paradise Bay Activity Committee and $200 to Sarasota Bay Activity Committee, passed.
Frank & Bean Dinner has been held since 1994. This year it will be on January 28, 2017 from 4-6PM. John Mattei is the coordinator, Joyce Shaver will be handling ticket distribution. Volunteers are need for a successful dinner.
West Manatee Fire & Rescue CPR will be held March 2 and 3 in Paradise Bay Hall.
NEXT MEETING, Tuesday, JANUARY 31, 2017 Luncheon 11:00 AM
Bob Fesko, Coast Guard Auxiliary spoke to our club prior to boat inspections. He advised the Secret to fishing….is to go where the fish are! He brought several pamphlets assisting boaters with information on fish ID, channel markers, Boater Safety Guides. There were 5 Auxiliary Members present. He reported Siriussignal.com has a battery-operated FLARE REPLACEMENT for $99.99, which the Coast Guard approves, eliminating the need to purchase flares every few years. Expired flares may be disposed of by calling Manatee Hazardous Waste for information.
MOTION: Club pays for member’s CPR class fees, motion passed.
Bob Shepard will check into getting Manatee Zone and No Wake signs for our channels and docks.
