The Meeting Was called to order at 11:04 AM by President Rick Plite with 67 members present and several members of the Coast Guard Auxiliary.

Rick thanked the Coast Guard for the Boater Safety Course held in January with 12 of our members.

The Egmont Key trip will be Feb 3, if cancelled a RED flag will be posted.  Another boat trip is scheduled for February 24, 2022, meet at end of our canal around 11:00 AM.

Pat Canavan from the Coast Guard Auxiliary is working on a Weekend Navigation course, it will be a 1-day class sometime in March.  He also advised people to check their boat fire extinguisher for a date on the bottom.  They are good for 10 years or if the arrow points to the green indicator.

Volunteers needed for the Cortez Fish Festival, Jim Gath and Scotty Yates have information for sign up.

Paradisebay.info is the web site where all our information is posted. 

Treasurers Report:  $4,125.71 in checking, $572.30 cash.  Fish Contest Awards available.

Frank & Bean Ticket refunds were available at this meeting, see an Officer if haven’t returned your ticket.

MOTION:  Schedule the Frank & Bean Dinner to last Saturday in February.  Discussion:  Ken Huizinga recommended this to give us more time to sell tickets.  He and John Kalman have agreed to host it 2023.

MOTION PASSED.

Dockmaster Report:  Scotty Yates has an updated Waiting List with 70 on the Paradise Bay and 10 Sarasota Bay.  The Board is working on New Rules, the 2019 Rules are available to pick up.  The Boat Assist List is also available.  Dock Fees Billing is changing to be sent out October 1 with Due November 1.  This gives the Dockmaster needed information on what docks will be available at the beginning of season.  Sarasota Bay RV Park has limited storage for Boats & Trailers, it is first come so check with Kelly in the RV Office for availability.  PB Shareholders can get stickers for the vehicle, Boat trailer and boat, SB Residents get their stickers from the RV Office.  These stickers help Security know who belongs in the Park.  There are new security cameras in the Boat Storage lot, new fence and soon laser security will be installed.  If you have a boat trailer in the lot DO NOT lock your tongue, they need to be moved occasionally. 

Summer docks and boat storage is available for Shareholders on a monthly basis.

VP Report:  Elections coming in March.  Larry Blank would like us to have flags for our boats.

George Mullin has offered to serve as Secretary next season.

John Mattei reported the Beautification Committee meeting is tomorrow, Wednesday Feb 2 in PB Hall Annex.

The Coast Guard Tapestry drawing was held.  Mike Turner was the winner.

The Meeting was called to order at 9:00 AM by President Rick Plite with 55 members present.

President announced multiple sign-up sheets at the table. Membership Dues MUST be paid to enter all our Contests or witness a posting.

Egmont Key trip is scheduled January 27 from 11 AM – 4 PM.

Don Vogel and a crew of volunteers placed several yards of gravel at the end of the Boat Ramp off 5th Street. Feedback is welcomed from boaters using the ramp. Please be mindful not to power load your boat onto your trailer as that causes the ramp to be damaged. Thanks to the volunteers who keep our docks, storage area and ramps in good condition.

Bayview Beautification committee meeting has been postponed until January 12, in the annex in PB Hall.  John Mattei reported this meeting is to gain feedback for landscaping and parking ideas between Bayview and the Docks.

Coast Guard Boat Inspection Date is pending, will be announced, and posted.

Paradisebay.info is where all our Club Information is available.

Treasurer’s Report:  Will be at the February meeting and contest awards presented then.

Secretary Minutes:  Read & Approved.

MOTION:  Cancel the Frank & Bean Dinner. Discussion, motion PASSED. A time and date to refund ticket money will be announced on Paradisebay.info and posted on the Information board by the docks. We will also request Paradise Bay to send out a mass email with this information.

Norm Kitchen has hosted the Annual Fish Fry Dinner. It is on our calendar March 25, 2022. It has also been Cancelled.

Coast Guard Boater Safety course will be Saturday, January 15, 2022, 8 AM in PB Hall.

Club Officers Nominations and voting to be held in March. Openings for President and Secretary. The VP and Treasurer have agreed to serve next season. There were No nominations or volunteers for the open positions.

Next Meeting:  February 1, 2022, in the Carport area behind PB Office at 11:00 AM. No Chili Luncheon, just a meeting.

The Meeting was called to order at 9:00 AM by President Rick Plite with 57 members present.

President Report:  Dues $10.00 per year, include Chili Luncheon and Fish Fry Dinner. Fishing Regulations are constantly changing so check FWC before you go fishing. The mini reef is installed on East Finger Dock about 3 docks from Channel. Ken Huizinga will be in charge of the January 29, 2022, Frank & Bean Dinner.  A sheet was passed out for volunteer sign ups.

New Fishing Shirts are being designed, long sleeve SPF 50.

The Club will host Coffee Hour, PB Hall, January 3, 2022.  Volunteers are needed to serve.

Coast Guard Boat Inspections will be January or February, sign ups sheet passed. Also Coast Guard Boating Safety Class sign ups for an upcoming class.

VP Report:  Chris Matteson reported membership sign ups, Frank & Bean Tickets are available. Jim Gath will be updating the Boat Assist List. Please let him know if your information needs updating.

Treasurer’s Report:  Read & Approved.  Fish Contest Awards were presented.

Secretary Minutes:  Read & Approved.

Dockmaster:  Scotty Yates reported over 80 on the Dock Wait List. There was discussion on floating dock availability. The Dock Billing was sent out early this season to get an idea Dock usage so empty docks can be assigned. Please get the new stickers for your vehicle, Boat trailer and boats. The Goal this year is to have every dock filled. Boat Trailers need to be functional as they are often moved in the storage area. When you pay your dock rental the office needs updated Boat & Trailer Registration.

FISH Festival is Feb 19 & 20 Volunteers needed; Jim Gath has information for sign up.

Egmont Boat Trip:  Contact Rick Plite for an upcoming trip.

PB SB Boating & Fishing Club Minutes

The meeting was called to order by Treasurer Kevin Sullivan at 9:00 AM.  The Fisherman’s Prayer was observed, 32 members were present.

Dues for the 2021-2022 Season are $10.00.  A Calendar is available for the One Day Contests and other Events. 

The Mini-Reef is installed on the East Dock near the opening of the Channel. 

All information regarding our club is available on Paradisebay.info web site.

Treasurer Report and Minutes were read and approved from April 2021 meeting.

DOCKMASTER:  Scotty Yates welcomed everyone back.  He reported the Dock Wait List is being updated and will be posted soon.  There are 70 on the PB list and 10 SB list.  The new Rules are being revised and waiting for PB Board approval.   There are new stickers available for your vehicles, boats and trailers.

Goal this season is to have a boat in every dock slip. 

When boat trailer is in storage lot please do not lock trailer tongue.  Please lock the ramp and storage lot after access.

The Meeting was called to order at 9:00 AM by President Rick Plite.  The Fisherman’s Prayer was read, 51 members were present.

President Rick Plite reported Flounder regulation is now 14” minimum.  Coast Guard requires vessels under 26’ that lanyards with kill switch must be attached to Captain when under way.

Please do NOT Power load your vessel onto your trailer.  Damage is being done at the ramps.

Snook, Redfish and Trout regulation changes are pending by FWC, they will be updated end of May.  The FWC has a YouTube video for discussion.  https://youtu.be/xBiH4a8Oryk

MOTION: Place signs saying NO POWER LOADING at boat ramps.  Passed.

Paradisebay.info is THE website to access information on our club.    The kayak storage situation is still under question. The Board has not been positive on his issue. 

Vice President Report:  Chris Matteson has Fishing Regulation materials available.  Hats & T shirts are available.

Treasurer’s Report and Secretary Minutes were read and approved.  Contest Fish awards for March were awarded.  Kevin reported the mini reef has been purchased and installation will be sometime mid to late April.

Dockmaster Report:  Scotty Yates on the Boat Dock Wait List, there are over 60 on PB List and 10 on SB list.  Dock Rules are available, and they may undergo a revision this year.  The Maximum Boat length is 23’, width 8.5’.  If a dock becomes available boats 12-18’ in length may get a dock quicker depending on which dock is open.  Storage is NOT guaranteed when you get a dock space.  Improvements to the storage lot include a new fence and gate, thanks to all who worked on this project.When boats are stored leave your motor down, do not lock trailer tongue or wheels.  Lock code will be changing often to avoid unauthorized use of the ramp and storage access.  The Boat Assist List is being revised.

Rick Plite reminded Award winners the Club Rules state YOU must receive your contest awards in Person, At the Meeting.  After 3 meetings the money will be returned to Club account.

Don Vogel asked anyone cleaning barnacles at the ramp or pad in storage area to please clean the area when you are done.
