Paradise Bay & Sarasota Bay
Boating & Fishing Club
January 2022 Newsletter
Happy New Boating & Fishing Year! Time to get out there and use all those wonderful presents you bought for yourself to catch fish or go boating?
January is going to be busy! We host Coffee Hour January 3rd. PB Hall, volunteers come at 9:00 AM. Wear your Club shirts or hats and remember Club pays for your coffee and donuts.
January 4th 9:00 AM Club meeting, PB Hall. We will announce when the Coast Guard Boat Inspections commences. It depends on their availability of the stickers for the new year.
One Day Fishing Contest is scheduled January 19th with rain date January 20th.
FRANK & BEAN Dinner is January 29th, PB Hall 4PM – 6PM. Volunteers are needed to make this a successful fund-raising event! We donate to both Sarasota Bay and Paradise Bay Activity Clubs and this event gives us the opportunity to be generous to groups unable to raise funds to continue.
Our generous donation is visible each evening on the canal going out the Bay. We purchased the Coast Guard approved lights on the posts marking the canal. Volunteers keep our docks and boat storage area up to date and tidy. Thanks to Scotty Yates our Dockmaster and his crew!
RED Tide is OVER for now and the Bay and Gulf are healing. Fish are returning and anglers are signing the boards for contests. We do have a running contest every day of each month. Dues of $10.00 make members eligible to win awards every day of Season. Members enjoy our two luncheons, the Chili Luncheon in February, and Fish Fry in March. You do not have to own a boat or even fish to be a member. We welcome all residents of Sarasota Bay and Paradise Bay to join.
New SPF 50 Shirts are coming!
Hope to see you all at our Frank & Bean Dinner!

The Red tide seems to be gone, let’s all hope for a full season of Boating & Fishing and activities. Scotty Yates, our Dockmaster has worked hard all summer to keep the Docks & storage clean and preparation for the upcoming Season. Included in this Newsletter is a note from him. We greatly appreciate all his hard work and want to issue a Thank You to him and his CREW, we greatly appreciate their dedication to keeping our Paradise great for all of us.
WE also need volunteers to Host Coffee Hour PB Hall Monday, November 1, 2021. Greetings from Scotty, Paradise Bay DockmasterAs “Season” is about to begin I would like to thank all the paradise Bay volunteers for their tireless efforts during the summer storms, removing boats from the docks, swings from the Gazebos, securing all items at the Pool and an “awesome” clean-up of the boat storage yard.
“The Crew” Tony Spindler, Jim Gath, Kevin Sullivan, Tom Hockin, Sam McCutcheon, Sonny Trader, Randy Darr and Darnel Darr.As most know we are back to “Self-Managed” in the Park. During the transition please be patient with all aspects of the Office procedures, Billing, Dock Lists, Wait Lists, etc., as previous computer programs and procedures did not always transfer as we would like.If you have questions about dock lists, gate codes, rules, note that there have been some changes along the way.The Paradise Bay Office & Dockmaster will be glad to answer your questions.Looking forward to a great season!Scotty Yates
