Newsletter May 2021

Sunrise and wind this morning here in Paradise, Good Morning Everyone!  As we all transition to Summer many of you have fled North and we wish you a safe and healthy Summer Season wherever you are.

I have finally been out fishing a few times in the last week or so.  Trout were on fire last week but this week I only caught grass. Recipes for seaweed anyone?  Fighting wind and low water levels were tough this week.

There is a “rumor” that Redfish are now legal to catch and fillet.  FWC website as of 4/22/2021 list season closed for Reds, Trout and Snook until their decision 5/30/2021.  Paradisebay.info has a link to the FWC website to check which species are in Season.  Check it out before you listen to rumor and possibly keep out of season fish.

The sunsets on our seawall are still attended by many and have been rewarded by the beauty nature supplies.  Manatees have returned and occasionally dolphin and mullet make their presence known as the sunset crowd is further entertained.

The Paradise Bay Sarasota Bay Boating & Fishing Club will meet the first Tuesday each month starting in November.  Our calendar is full, and plans are to make additions to include social events such as boat parades along our waterfront.

Enjoy your summer!
