Paradise Bay Activities Committee
Minutes of November 28, 2022 Meeting
The meeting was called to order by Carl K. at 10:00 a.m.
Prayer was said by Dan Smith
Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
Present were: Carl Kerr: Co-President, Jim Gath: Co-President, Shana Simison: Vice President and 18 members.
Secretary’s Report: The minutes of the last meeting were previously emailed. There were no additions or corrections so the minutes will stand as posted.
Treasurer’s Report: none
Co-President’s Report: Jim said Charlie Knight’s Christmas Party will be on Sat., Dec. 10th at 1 p.m. in the Paradise Bay Rec Hall.
Vice President’s report: We will be decorating the Christmas Tree on Thursday, December 1st at 10 a.m.
Old Business
- Lights at the Cornhole Courts-There was some discussion but no decision was made.
- Bayfest-George agreed to oversee the games.
New Busines
- Monthly gathering at Marilyn Batten’s. Activities Committee would provide food & paper goods for approximately $250. Attendees would be asked to bring something to share: There was some discussion but no decision was made.
- Golf Simulator-discussion: There was some discussion but no decision was made.
Committee reports/update
Bayfront Flowers-Tom C.-Planting will take place on Fri., Dec. 9th at 1 p.m.
Ladies Friendship Club_ Susan M.-On Sat., Dec. 3rd is the Craft Show at 9-1 p.m., Luncheon at 11-1 p.m., Blood Mobile at 9-2 p.m. The next meeting will be on Wed., Dec. 14th at 1 p.m.
Euchre-Mary F.-will begin on Monday, Dec. 5th at 6:30 p.m.
Boating and Fishing Club-Chris M.-Thank you to everyone who helped with the Thanksgiving Dinner. Volunteer is needed to oversee Kayak access.
Bocce Club-Tom-will start in January.
Pool-Jim G.-need volunteers to sign up to cover the pool.
Bingo-Joyce N.-good turn out last week.
Woodshop-Rich-meeting on Dec. 5th at 1 p.m. in the SaraBay Rec Hall.
Craft Show-Jean C.-Set up for Craft Show will be on Fri., Dec. 2nd at 12-3 p.m.; need volunteers to help clean up on Dec. 4th.
Water Aerobics-Jean C.-Classes are at 9:00 a.m. and 10 a.m. starting in December.
Golf League-Jim G.- arrive at Pinebrook Ironwood Golf Course at 12 p.m., tee off at 12:30 p.m.
Historical Committee-Brenda O.-need pictures of Activities, can be brought to 34 H St.; would like someone to assist with photographs.
Christmas Eve Open House and Karaoke-Shana- will be on Dec. 24th at 6:30-9 p.m., bring treats & snacks.
Joyce said that our Mail Lady, Gloria is retiring on Dec. 31st. There will be a box in the Paradise Bay Rec Hall for anyone who would like to give her a card/note. It was suggested to put a balloon on your mail box on her last day.
Travel-Rita F.-There are 15 seats available for the trip to see White Christmas on December 27th for $114.00. The bus will depart at 9:15 a.m.
A motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Shana and seconded by Tom B. at 10:52 a.m.
