Paradise Bay Activities Committee
Minutes of March 8, 2021 Meeting
The meeting was called to order by Shana Simison at 10:03 a.m.
Present 14: Shana Simison-Vice President, Wendy Graf-Treasurer, Karen Rimatzki-Secretary, Donna Matteson-Board Assistant, Barbara Giacchetti-Exercise Class, Mary Jane Clark-Shuffleboard, Tom Farrington-Horseshoes, Carl Kerr-Bocce Club, Jinny Kiel-Book Club, Marilyn Morrisey-Art Class, Susan Miller-Blood Mobile, Mary Fox-Cards, Melissa Coleman-Pickleball, Rosie Kerr, and Bev Banzin
Secretary’s report was given by Karen Rimatzki. The minutes of the last meeting were posted and copies handed out at the meeting. There were no additions or corrections so the minutes will stand as posted.
Treasurer’s report was given by Wendy Graf. The bank balance is $10,292.19. The report will stand as read.
President’s report-None
Vice President’s report-Shana Simison-There will be a Parkwide Yard Sale on March 13th. Also, on March 13th there will be a Food Truck at 3:30-7:00 p.m. on the Million Dollar Lot. 127 residents have notified Debbie Greeves that they will be purchasing from the Food Truck.
Old Business
Nominating Committee- consisting of Brenda O., Carl K., Barbara G., and Marilyn M. They do not have any new nominees for the positions of Vice President and Treasurer. Shana S. and Wendy G. have agreed to continue in those positions. Therefore, it will not be necessary to have an election. Shana S. will continue as Vice President for a term of 2 years. Wendy G. will continue as Treasurer for a term of 2 years.
New Business
Revision of Rules-Shana S. read all the revisions being proposed. There were no changes made to those revisions. A vote for the approval of the revised Rules will take place at our next meeting on March 22nd.
Activity report/update
Dances-Shana S. reported for Debbie Greeves the schedule for the 2022 Season. Copies of the schedule were passed out.
Blood Mobile-Susan Miller-She thanked everyone for participating in the Blood Drive, this year. There were 29 donors which is the most we ever had here. She stated that next year they will be here for a longer period of time so people won’t need to wait as long.
Art Class-Marilyn Morrisey-We will begin meeting this week on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Helm’s House.
Shuffleboard-Mary Jane Clark-We are still playing Shuffleboard every day of the week with a good crowd. This Thursday, March 11th at 6:30 p.m. we will be having Shuffle Under the Stars. Everyone is welcome.
Book Club-Jinny Kiel-There were 15 people attending in February. We will continue into April, this year.
Pickleball-Melissa C.-Open play is 9-11 a.m. Anyone who would like to learn to play can call Melissa C., her phone no. is listed on the bulletin board at the Pickleball Court. Beginner play is every Thursday, 9-11 a.m. More advanced play is every Tuesday, 9-11 a.m.
Memorial Service-will be on Sunday, March 21st at 5:30 p.m. under Carport.
A motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Carl K. and seconded by Wendy G. at 10:20 a.m.
