Minutes of November 14, 2022 Meeting

The meeting was called to order by Carl K. at 10:00 a.m.

Prayer was said by Dan Smith

Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

Present were: Carl Kerr: Co-President, Jim Gath: Co-President, Shana Simison: Vice President and 23 members.

Secretary’s Report: The minutes of the last meeting were previously emailed. There were no additions or corrections so the minutes will stand as posted.

Treasurer’s Report: none

Randy Darr reported the Hall floor has been refinished. New pads were put on the tables and chairs. Do not put any tape on the floor. Some file cabinets were cleaned out of old materials. If anyone has other old materials in the file cabinets or cupboards, please dispose of them.

 

Co-President’s Report: Jim G. was asked about getting lights for Corn Hole Courts, so they could play at night. This will be discussed at a future meeting.

New Business

  1. Lights at the Cornhole Court-to be discussed at a future meeting
  2. Monthly gathering at Marilyn Batten’s. Activities Committee would provide food & paper goods for approximately $250. Attendees would be asked to bring something to share. -To be discussed at a future meeting.
  3. Bayfest-will be on March 4, 2023. Planning at future meetings.

Committee reports/update

Boating and Fishing Club-Chris M.-The turkeys have been ordered for the Thanksgiving Dinner which will be at 1:00 p.m. Please bring a dish to pass. Volunteers are needed to decorate and serve. Dues are being collected. Fish Frys are on.

Shuffleboard Club-Chris M.-Thank you to Charlie K. for painting at the Courts.

Bible Study-Dan S.-Bible Study will be on Thursdays at 10 a.m. starting on January 12, 2023. Waterfront Church is on Sundays at 10 a.m.

Fun Fitness-Darnell D.-There will be classes this Wednesday and Friday.

Entertainment-Darnell D.-130 tickets have been sold; 54 are on the waiting list.

Karaoke-Darnell D.-Karaoke will be as scheduled and during the Christmas Eve Open House.

Bayfront Flowers-Tom Colson-The flowers will be planted on November 29th at 1 p.m. Volunteers are needed.

Dances-Debbie G.-There has been 170 tickets sold for January. All dances are in the Hall and cost a total of $30.00. The dates are January 20th, February 7th, February 17th, and March 17th (with Eric Vonn). There will be a New Year’s Eve Dance for $5.00. There will be a dance on February 25th as a fundraiser for the Activities Committee.

Travel-Rita F. & Kathleen T.-There will be a maximum of 50 people for Day Trips. The Christmas Show will be on December 27th, it will cost $114.00 which includes lunch. The Alaskan trip on June 23, 2023 still has openings.

Charlie and Linda are hosting a party on December 10th at 1-4 p.m. They need help with tables and decorations. There will be burgers and hot dogs for sale. Please bring a dish to pass.

Art Classes-Marilyn M.-Classes will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The Art Show will be on March 19, 2023.

Library-need books returned.

Euchre-Mary F.-Euchre will be Mondays at 6:30 p.m., doors close at 6:15 p.m., beginning Monday, January 2, 2023.

Horseshoes-Tom F.-Horseshoes are being played on Fridays at 9:30 a.m. with warmup at 9:15 a.m.

Bayfest-Carl K.-Bayfest will be on March 4, 2023.

Bocce-Carl K.-Bocce will begin the 2nd week in January. Hot Dog sales before Bingo will start on Monday, November 14th at 4:30 p.m.

Shana S. we need volunteers to put Christmas decorations up for the Open House on December 24th.

Kitchen-Sue C. asked for help with supplies. She will be giving up the job.

Call the office to add any items for the electronic sign.

Bingo-Joyce N.-The first Bingo will be on November 14th, doors open at 4:30 p.m.

Blood Mobile-Heidy K.-The Blood Mobile will be here during the Craft Show.

Pinochle-Heidy K. stated that Pinochle is on Wednesdays at 6:00 p.m.

Historical Committee-Brenda needs pictures of Activities and old pictures.

Ladies Friendship Club-Joyce N. said there will be a Luncheon, Bake Sale, and Gift Basket Raffle during the Craft Show. We need items donated for the Gift Basket and Bake Sale.

Newsletter-Joyce N.-submit items by the 25th of each month for the following month.

Woodshop-Rick-Dues being collected; 23 new ladies. Dinners will continue with Beans & Franks. Trash & Treasures will be during the Craft Show; drop off donated items at the Woodshop.

Exercise-Barbara G.-will be on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 8:30 a.m.

Mahjong-will be on the calendar.
