Lunch was served.

Cathy Mullen introduced Denise Gattuso, the Founder & Executive Director of Prodigal Daughters Journey Home. It’s a religious based organization to help women who have suffered with addiction. It’s a 2-year program for them and their children. Denise gave us her background of how she had a calling to start this organization in 2016. Denise introduced Karlee Hudson, a graduate of the program and Director of Outreach. Karlee explained how, after living with addiction for many years, went to the Prodigal Daughters. She is now clean for over 2 years. She explained the many services that are provided to help the women live independently after they graduate. She asked for our prayers, volunteers, and donations.

Secretary’s report: Karen R. stated that the minutes of the last meeting were previously sent by email and passed out at the meeting. There were no additions or corrections. A motion to accept the minutes was made by Lynn J. and seconded by Jean C. The motion passed unanimously.

Treasurer’s report: Joyce F. said $250 was donated to Angel Blankets, we paid $300 for bracelets, and took in $100 for dues. The balance in our account is $1,964.12. A motion to accept the report was made by Karen C. and seconded by Pam L. It passed unanimously.

Old Business:

Bracelets: We will sell them for $5 each. We have American Pride and Cancer Awareness. We will sell them during the Coffee Hours. If you are interested in selling them, please let Susan know.

Susan mentioned that we have some Favorite Recipe booklets from years ago available to anyone who wants one.

Fashion Show: Susan told us that Bealls does not have Corporate approval to do the show so we need to decide, today, what we want to do. Joyce showed us a video of a “Fun/Foolish” Fashion Show that used spoof type fashions, for example a “pin-stripe” dress would have pins in rows on the dress, etc. Also, we would need one or more narrators explaining the fashions in a humorous way. Susan is going to check for Thursday, March 23rd with Shana as a possible date. We will need to prepare little treats to be put on the tables. Lori J. has been collecting gift bags to be filled with donated items to be given away, they can be brought to Lori’s house. Heidi K. made a motion to do the ”Fun” Fashion Show and it was seconded by Joyce F. It passed unanimously.

Welcome Committee: Susan said the Activities Committee has given approval for us to visit new Shareholders with information about all the activities available in Paradise Bay. Peggy B., Heidi K., Donna M., Joyce F., and Shirley volunteered to be on the Committee. Susan will contact them about having a meeting to discuss what needs to be done.

Valentine’s Day Visits to 90+: Susan M. has updated the list. Rosie, Donna, and MaryAnne have volunteered to do this.

Craft Show on February 4th: The Luncheon, Gift Basket Raffle and Bake Sale will be taking place. Cathy M. is in charge of the Luncheon and needs volunteers. Anyone willing to help, please contact Cathy M.

Hot Dog Sale on March 11th:  We will need volunteers to help.

New Business:

Nominating Committee: According to our Constitution, the President needs to appoint a Nominating Committee in February for the election of new officers in March. This year the office of President and Treasurer are up for election. If you are willing to serve on the Committee, please let Susan know.

New Accounting Procedure: Due to the change in the Paradise Bay insurance policy, we need to have our account handled by the Office. We will still have control over our money but will be covered for any loss.

Heidi K. told us that Turning Points is in need of many items for the colder weather. Pam L. made a motion to donate $250 and it was seconded by Shirley. It passed unanimously.

Susan M. told us that Sylvia F. passed away last week. Her daughter, Linda, would like to have a Memorial Service by the water some time in the future. Susan M. volunteered us to help with it.

The meeting was adjourned at 3:25 p.m.

Next meeting is scheduled for February 8, 2023 at 1 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Karen Rimatzki, Secretary
